     Professor Tom Hill, Rokudan, has studied Danzan Ryu Jujitsu with the American Judo and Jujitsu Federation (AJJF) since 1971. He began his studies with Doug Kiehl, Sensei and then studied with AJJF Professor Patrick Browne for 17 years attending his annual summer jujitsu camps at the University of Illinois in the 80s and 90s.

 

      In 1982 Professor Hill opened his dojo, Shum Pu Kan, and in 1998 he, Chet Ensley, Sensei and Matsushita Sensei brought their dojos together to the present location in Stroudsburg Pennsylvania to open martial arts instruction to the community offering classes in Jujitsu, Kendo, Karate, Taijitsu and Iaido. He has assisted 16 students attain the rank of Black Belt in jujitsu and many have opened their own dojos.

 

     Professor Hill continues to study and teach Danzan Ryu Jujitsu and travels around the United States propagating the principles of Professor Henry Okazaki, founder of Danzan Ryu Jujitsu.

 

     Professor Hill received a certificate in Sefukujitsu Restorative Therapy in 1983 through the AJJF. He also currently holds the rank of Sandan in Kendo with the All American Kendo Association and the All Eastern United States Kendo Federation and the rank of Sandan in Iaido in the Meshin Muso Ryu style founded by Matsushita Sensei.
